POINT SCORE SHOWS
Each year, the Club nominates up to six championship conformation shows and an especially printed sash is awarded to the Best of Breed at each of these shows. Based on a scoring system the dog or bitch with the highest number of points at the end of the year is declared the winner. Exhibitors who are not members of the Border Terrier club can receive the Best of Breed sash at each show but their dog does not accrue points towards the 'Winner' award
Best of Breed 6 pts Runner up of Breed 5 pts
Dog and Bitch Challenge 4 points if not Best or Runner Up of Breed
Reserve Dog and Bitch Challenge 3 pts
Up until 2009, trohpies were presented to the top three placegetters and In May 2010 the three trophies were lodged on a permanent basis at the Victorian Canine Association's Canine Museum.
These trophies were the 'Llanishen Rufus Memorial Trophy' a commissioned work made in Tasmania and donated by Peggy Wolfe, the 2nd trophy was donated by John and Joyce Caldwell and the 3rd trophy was donated by Phil and Betty Reid.
From 2011, a specially worded sash will be presented to the winning dog or bitch.
